Who are We

Shivpuri FPO is a legalized Producer Organization (PO), formed by the farmers from different part of life. We have around 250 acres of land and are still growing in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Shivpuri FPO is one of the most prominent types of a PO where all the involved entities are the farmers, having concerns for better development and growth of it's members and region as a whole.

What we do? FPOs are the groups of farmers who join hands in membership and pursue their common interests. At Shivpuri FPO, we are creating an agriculture ecosystem. This consists of like-minded people from urban and rural areas who build up relationships with the operating partners. Any farmers can join hands with Shivpuri FPO, and all the farmers take a cumulative decision.

Growing economy while ensuring the success and growth of the farmers is the sole model behind Shivpuri! The procedures that we go through from the very beginning till the end mark are:

Community Development -
As interested people approach and collaborate on some interests, the communities for individual interests and motives are developed for the farmers. The associators of these communities then provide the required necessary items for various agricultural needs to support the farmers, and they get the shares from the earned profits.
Food Processing -
Farmers then start with the production of the products. The desired outcomes might be for the crops or the dairy products, and the farmers work hard, keeping all their efforts together, to come up with the best quality yields.
Value Addition -
Not only the raw agricultural products but the yields of Shivpuri's communities are added up with more value by processing them further to make more usable goods. With this, the profits for the communities rise, and the hardship for the consumers lowers down.
Direct Retailers -
After the value-addition, all the produce from the field is being given to the direct retailers at a pre-determined price. Thus, the cost of the product is less, leading to our farmer community getting benefited.
Exports -
Finally, the raw and value-added products are exported directly to the bigger marts and wholesale consumers. With this, the community members get benefitted. Here at Shivpuri, we involve the least number of intermediaries for exporting the goods and try to do much of the heavy tasks with the community members' help to save more profits for them.

From farming practices (backend) and production of goods to seamlessly selling (front-end) them with higher profits, the whole backend to front-end integration in Shivpuri is flawless smooth. Sachin Kale a mechanical engineer from Nagpur who started his career by working at a power plant and rapidly rose to the top over the years and invested his 15-year-old provident fund in setting up a clean energy model where his farm was useful all year round and gave a maximum of profit, says “Everything was a challenge, as I had absolutely no clue about farming. A farmer from Bahirwadi, Vishwanath’s village is in the drought-prone Beed district of Maharashtra. However, he has earned Rs 7 lakh from farming on just one acre of land! Vishwanath decided to give multi-cropping a try, and he also figured out that he could increase his crop by building a wire fence and planting creepers and climbers on them. Vishwanath also installed a pipeline with his first-year profits to ensure sprinklers watered his plants. He has also picked up farming methods like raised-bed farming and mulching over the years, which has proved to be beneficial.

Rajiv is a part-time Chartered Accountant and a full-time farmer and earns more from farming than his chartered accountancy firm says “Drip irrigation is the best way to reduce water wastage and labour cost, while mulching is nothing but a thin layer of plastic in which holes are made to put the seeds. This restores the sun rays for a long time and retains humidity of the soil. It also restricts the growth of weeds around the main crop,”
